Former “Gallows Hill” where the city's first executioner lived on the hill's “foul side”.

The hill was formerly called “Gallows Hill” and carries a dark aura from the brutal punishments of the 1600s.

Facts: This was where the city's first executioner, Master Hans of Halmstad, lived on the hill's “foul side”. He was hired in 1626 and carried out his first task by chopping off the hands of three boatswains.
