The building is said to be haunted by an old caretaker who once worked there. Visitors and staff have reported mysterious footsteps and shadows moving through the rooms, especially late in the evening.

Facts: Built 1642–1654 as a “tyghus” (warehouse for cannons and uniforms). It stands on the site of the city's very oldest cemetery, which is often given as the explanation for the unsettled atmosphere. It was here that four-year-old Karl XI was proclaimed king on 1 March 1660 after his father's sudden death.
