Hindemae Manor

Fyn, Ullerslev · Denmark · Herrgård · Scare 3/5

A carriage drawn by four horses and a cracking whip drives onto the courtyard — but when you rush out, everything is gone.

Hindemae Manor on Funen has been known since 1480, when it was owned by Jørgen Urne. The present main building was erected in 1790 and has since witnessed countless changes of ownership — but one of the hauntings has passed down through them all.

At night, a carriage drawn by four horses in full gallop comes across the grounds and stops in front of the main entrance. The horses snort and stamp, the coachman cracks his whip, and the entire house wakes. Staff and guests have rushed out over the years to receive the unannounced travelers — but when the door opens, everything is gone. No wheel ruts in the gravel, no hoofprints in the ground, no sound source on the road. Only the lingering feeling that the house has just had a visitor.
