Haraldskær Manor House
Jylland, Vejle · Denmark · Herrgård · Scare 3/5
A young woman who died of unrequited love wanders from Skibet Church, through the old parlour and down to the Vejle River.
Haraldskær Manor House near Vejle is one of Jutland's oldest — the main building dates back to 1434, and in the marshes below it, the so-called Haraldskær Woman was found in 1835, a 2,500-year-old Iron Age victim. The location has been in continuous use since then and is operated today as a conference hotel.
The house's own ghost is a young woman who took her own life out of unrequited love. Her journey begins at Skibet Church and goes straight through the main building — through the old parlour and further down toward the Vejle River. Staff have seen her pass through several times over the years, always the same route, always the same direction, as if she still hasn't found the one she was looking for.
