Bromølle Kro

Sjælland, Jyderup · Denmark · Värdshus · Scare 3/5

Denmark's oldest inn — the innkeeper couple got traveling salesmen drunk and threw the bodies in the river.

Bromølle Kro by Åmosen is one of Denmark's oldest inns and has served as a hostelry since 1198. In the 1700s, an innkeeper couple ran the place who got traveling salesmen drunk, murdered them, and threw the bodies in the river. The couple was eventually exposed and hanged on the gallows nearby — but one of their victims never left the inn.

The Grey Lady still walks through the inn. Pans fly through the kitchen, taps turn on by themselves, and a specific guest room is afflicted by unexplained events. The clairvoyant Jasper Sågård described her as "a lady with dark hair and very feminine" — the wife of an administrator who belonged to the murdered party. The staff have learned to live with her.
